Very relaxing Easter break with great facilities and warm hospitality. The pool area was absolutely fabulous, perfect for a refreshing swim. The Portuguese style breakfast was delicious, especially the fresh fruit. The owner was incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English, providing us with great recommendations for places to visit in the stunning nearby Duoro Valley. The proximity to the Paiva walkways was also a major advantage, allowing us to explore the beautiful surroundings. The recommended restaurants did not disappoint, offering amazing local cuisine.
There were a few steps to negotiate and the rooms were a short walk from the parking area, which might be a challenge for some guests. driving in the mountainous area required caution due to the winding roads.

Our stay at this hidden gem was mind-blowing! From the moment we arrived, the friendly and welcoming owners made us feel like part of their family. The rooms were super clean, spacious, and comfortable, with cute little windows to let in the sunshine. The hotel grounds were jaw-dropping, with beautiful gardens, grape vines, and even kiwi fruit growing! We loved cooling off in the nice swimming pool and exploring the surrounding area on hikes and bike rides. The breakfast in the well-equipped dining room was delicious, and we enjoyed sipping our welcome drink at the bar/lounge area. The free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TV with international channels were a bonus. The owners went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, even joining us for a local village party. We highly recommend this amazing place for a calm and relaxing getaway. 10 stars ++++!

our recent stay at a villa in Castelo de Paiva was incredible. Quinta Vilar E Almarde exceeded our expectations in every way. The owners were so welcoming, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the caipirinhas made by Sr. Luis were the best we've ever had. It truly made our getaway unforgettable.
Road signage could be improved.

Stunning environment with a clean, well-kept property. Ample parking available, although the access road is narrow. Rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily and are a good size. I had a wonderful stay at a cozy, homely place with great food and great people. The hosts made me feel like part of their family and even took me to a local village party. The brand new accommodations were comfortable and the surrounding area had amazing sights to see. I especially enjoyed visiting Passadiços do Paiva, Porto, Arouca, Porto Antigo, Rochas Parideiras, and Frecha da Mizarela. I highly recommend this place.
The only thing to be cautious of is the mountain roads with twists and turns in the local area.

The rooms are equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, like air conditioning and a flat-screen TV. The double room with a garden view was so relaxing, with the peaceful sounds and beautiful scenery. I really liked the private entrance in the double room, it made me feel like I had my own little oasis. The twin room with a patio was great for enjoying the fresh air and getting some sun. The twin room with a seating area was a cozy spot to relax and unwind after a long day. The garden view in the double room was a pleasant sight to wake up to every morning. The balcony in the double room was a lovely spot to enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the view. I liked having cable TV in the double room, it made it easy to unwind and catch up on my favorite shows. The soundproofing in the twin room was a bonus, as it allowed me to get a good night's sleep without any disturbances. The twin room with a sofa was a great place to relax and read a book or just chill out.
Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the sofa in the twin room.
